Every new member helps strengthen Federal Retirees’ ability to advocate for federal employees, retirees and their families.
As our membership grows, so does our ability to protect pensions and benefits, influence public policy and ensure the priorities of our community are heard by decision-makers.
This fall, help someone discover the benefits of membership and you’ll also have the chance to win exciting prizes through our annual Mega Recruitment Drive.
Whether you are a current member, a prospective member or someone helping an eligible friend or colleague learn more, the Mega Recruitment Drive gives you a simple way to take part: refer someone, join Federal Retirees or share campaign resources with your network.
The Mega Recruitment Drive runs from Sept. 3 to Nov. 27, 2026.

Why refer a member?
If you know someone who’s eligible for membership, introducing them to Federal Retirees is one of the most meaningful ways you can support our work. Every new member helps amplify our collective voice and strengthens our ability to advocate on the issues that matter most to Canada’s federal retirees and employees.

Who can join
Membership is open to active and retired members of the federal public service, anyone paying into or receiving a federal public service pension, members of the Canadian Armed Forces and the RCMP, federally appointed judges, and eligible partners and survivors.
How to participate
There are three easy ways to participate in the Mega Recruitment Drive.
Refer someone who’s ready to join
Share the membership link and remind the new member to include your name and membership number when they join online or by phone. Once their membership is complete, you’ll receive an entry into this year’s prize draws.
Know someone who’s ready to become a member?
Submit a referral
If someone is interested in learning more but isn’t ready to join, submit their contact information using our referral form (with their permission).
Our member services team will answer their questions, explain the benefits of membership and help them determine whether Federal Retirees is right for them.
You’ll receive an entry for every referral who becomes a member.
Become a member
Not a member yet?
Become a member during the Mega Recruitment Drive to be automatically entered into the prize draws.
Membership starts at $58.80 per year for individuals or $76.44 per year for couples.
New members who join during the Mega Recruitment Drive are automatically entered into the prize draws and can also begin referring eligible friends and colleagues of their own.
Members who choose Dues Deducted at Source (DDS) will also receive a one-time 25 per cent discount on their membership dues.

Prize draws
Grand prize: a $25,000 trip of a lifetime! A $20,000 travel voucher, courtesy of Collette, and $5,000 spending cash, courtesy of belairdirect.
Secondary prize: $5,000 cash, courtesy of belairdirect.
Early bird prize: $1,000 prepaid credit card, courtesy of IRIS. Participate by Oct. 31 to qualify!
Top recruiter prize: $1,000 prepaid credit card to the member with the most successful referrals.
New member bonus: $500 prepaid credit card, courtesy of Red Wireless. Are you a new member? Refer another colleague to be eligible.
Recruit five: $100 prepaid credit card, courtesy of HearingLife and Federal Retirees. Refer five or more members and skip the draw — your reward is guaranteed.

Your membership number appears in your online membership account or on your Sage magazine mailing label. If you can’t find it, our member services team will be happy to help.
No. Every successful referral earns another contest entry, and members who recruit five successful new members receive a guaranteed reward.
If you submit a referral form, our member services team will contact the prospective member to answer their questions and explain the benefits of membership. You’ll receive an entry if they become a member.
Yes. Please ensure you have the prospective member’s permission before sharing their contact information with us.
Contest rules
Participants must:
- Be the age of majority and legal residents of Canada.
- Submit referrals with the prospective member’s consent.
- Meet all eligibility requirements outlined in the official contest rules.
