Saskatoon & Area

Did you know?

Changes to the PSHCP include changes to Pharmacy Dispensing Fees and Frequency Limits.

The PSHCP will reimburse up to a maximum of $8  for the pharmacy dispensing fee. The fee cap does not apply to biologic or compound drugs.

Pharmacist dispensing fees will be reimbursed up to a maximum of  five (5) times  per calendar year for maintenance drugs. Exceptions may be granted if the drug is a controlled substance, has a manufacturer recommended storage limitation, or the three-month supply co-pay is more than $100.

Members who hold Comprehensive coverage may not be subject to dispensing fee limitations.

It is important that you discuss your options with your pharmacist. Options could include requesting three months worth of medication at a time, requesting and obtaining an exception for certain medications from Canada Life or changing to a pharmacy that will accommodate these plan changes. For more information, refer to the PSHCP Directive:  https://www.njc-cnm.gc.ca/directive/d9/v283/s832/en#s832-tc-tm

Welcome to the Saskatoon and Area Branch website. You will find all the information you need on our branch advocacy activities and events here. If you have any questions, contact a member of the board (our names are listed on this website)  via email at saskatoon@federalretirees.ca.

We have created a new Facebook page!  Please join us there to stay updated on programs, services and events in Saskatoon.

Our branch provides service to our membership, which is currently around 1500. The Saskatoon and Area Branch holds membership in the Saskatchewan Seniors’ Mechanism (SSM). We advertise their activities on our website and Facebook page too, as well as those of the Saskatoon Council on Aging (SCOA).

I encourage you to spread the word about becoming a member, and please share our website information with other federal retirees. I also invite you to be an active member of our branch — help us work for you! Your voice is even more important as we work toward whatever will become the norm after the pandemic.
