Dear Chilliwack Branch members!
Just a few notes from the president’s office! I do hope you are enjoying your summer. It’s been a hot one so far! I’m sure many are entertaining grandkids over the summer, I know I am!
We had a lovely day celebrating Federal Retirees’ 60th anniversary on June 7, 2023 at the Chilliwack Golf Club. What a great venue for a celebration. It was held jointly with the Abbotsford branch and the food was amazing, the scenery stunning and the company great! Many received prizes and a money draw and so hopefully those people enjoyed that extra addition! It is certainly something we may do again for a special occasion.
Over the summer we have had some Board member changes and these are as follows. Both Anthony (Tony) Edgar and Sonja Kendricks left the board and we are very grateful for all their hard work over the years and wish them the best. We now have Kim Mcleod who will be treasurer and VP, Dale Emery, director at large, secretary and special projects, Tammy Jordan, a new member and our new advocacy person and myself, president and membership. We are always looking for additional board members. Please feel free to reach out!
Starting in September we will be making plans for a Christmas get together and if there is an earlier meeting you will certainly be notified.
We also had Federal Retirees’ Annual Meeting in Quebec. Very well attended. Our treasurer Kim attended on my behalf. Many new proposals were put forth for the executive committee to discuss.
That’s it from here! Keep well.
