Cheers to our volunteers

April 12, 2024
Roy Goodall, president of the National Association of Federal Retirees.
Federal Retirees’ president has a message of thanks for our team of volunteers during National Volunteer Week 2024.

National Volunteer Week is upon us. As the president of a national association that has volunteers from coast to coast to coast, I find myself very grateful to the volunteers who help me do my job of securing a safe and comfortable retirement for our members — all 170,000 of them — of our National Association of Federal Retirees.

Indeed, this organization wouldn’t exist without the tireless commitment of our many volunteers. And as we look forward at the rest of 2024, which will include discussions about the Pensioners' Dental Services Plan, a possible restructuring of our organization and possibly a federal election, we know we can rely on our volunteers to continue to push our agenda.

The theme of this year’s National Volunteer Week (April 14–20, 2024) is Every Moment Matters, which is intended to highlight the importance of every volunteer and every contribution they make. Our volunteers make many — from meeting with their MPs and hosting webinars to attending district meetings and promoting important policies.

Kindly allow me to take this opportunity to say thank you, and happy volunteer week.
