Welcome all Members of the Medicine Hat & District Branch. In the past year and half the entire executive of our branch has been replaced. You will see the list of board members in the fall edition of the Sage magazine, or you are welcome to attend one or both of our annual members meetings, in fact you should be receiving an eblast message that invites you to our fall meeting on Oct. 21 at the Medicine Hat Golf & country Club.
Your branch will continue to host two general members meetings per year. The fall meeting will concentrate on recruitment to attract new members for the Association. We all know that we joined the Association for the travel insurance package, so let’s share this information with prospective members. We know the people that are still working, and those who have recently retired as federal employee. So let’s share this information with the. When we convince them of the benefits of joining the Association our branch also grows, a small share of their Association registration fee is passed on to the branch.
The spring meeting is our annual general meeting (AGM), It’s a business meeting where members volunteer to fill vacancies on the board, sometimes it’s easy and sometimes it’s not. It’s a process and we get it done. At both meetings there will be an agenda, and it can be sent to all members that register. For information about local interests we plan on having a guest speaker.
Our greatest assets in the branch are the immediate past president Lionel Provost and one year removed past treasurer Mel Spence. They both have served our branch for many years. With their help the rest of the executive will move forward to growing our branch and keep you informed.
