Federal Retirees supports the GCWCC

GCWCC virtual launch event on Sept. 10!
Your support matters! Last year, retirees donated just over $3 million through the GCWCC.

The 2020 Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC) will be launching virtually from Ottawa on Sept. 10. Federal Retirees president Jean-Guy Soulière will be delivering brief remarks along with the clerk of the privy council, Ian Shugart, and this year’s champion, Sony Perron.

As federal retirees, we continue to make a difference in the lives of Canadians just as we did when we were actively serving in the public service, the RCMP and the Canadian Armed Forces. Giving generously through the Charitable Campaign is yet another way to express our gratitude to this generation of front-line and office workers who are demonstrating the immense value of public service by supporting all Canadians so well during these troubling times.

The support of all federal retirees is essential in the success of the campaign, and we’d like to thank you for your continued commitment and dedication throughout the years. Last year, retirees donated just over $3 million through the GCWCC! Your continued support is needed, now more than ever, as donations will support Canadians struggling with the social and economic impacts of COVID-19 across the country.

Join the virtual launch event from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. EDT on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, to hear from our president, among other esteemed guest speakers, and to learn more about how public servants are supporting Canadians during COVID-19. Online registration for the webcast is now open (retirees can select “Other” as their department and enter their personal email address).

Retirees can make donations online through the GCWCC ePledge form. For more information about the GCWCC and how retirees can get involved, visit the Government of Canada website.
