Board opportunities
Treasurer
Serve as an integral member of the board by maintaining branch financial accounts, overseeing expenditures and preparing annual budgets.
Branch advocacy liaison officer
Support advocacy initiatives aligned with the association’s strategic priorities, monitor provincial issues and organize activities that engage local and federal representatives.
Director/Office coordinator
Assistance as the office coordinator is a high priority and available whether you choose to be a board member or not.
As a board member, you will contribute to the overall management of branch affairs. Directors participate in monthly meetings and may choose to be involved in areas such as advocacy, communications, events, membership or governance.
Committee Opportunities
Advocacy committee
Support the advocacy team with the work of monitoring issues affecting members’ pensions and benefits and help to organize advocacy events and outreach activities.
Volunteer engagement committee
Support the volunteer engagement team to recruit and engage members to volunteer for available roles within the branch.
Events committee
Assist in planning and organizing branch events such as luncheons, training sessions, educational seminars and volunteer appreciation activities. Choose the area of your specialty and help us plan that specific event.
Supporting Volunteer Roles
Events
Join our team to assist with an event when needed. Being reliable, collaborative and having the ability to research venues, catering, decorating a room or managing a registration table at an event is the key. No long-term commitment is required.
Assisting members from home or office
Join our team to assist members in person or by phone. Office support staff manage mail, do administrative tasks and help keep our membership base connected, three hours a week.
Preferred partnership
Join our team and help to identify partnerships with local businesses that we can develop relationships with, to offer preferred discounts and benefits to branch members.
