2024 Branch Annual Meeting

We had our branch annual meeting (BAM) on April 3 with about 30 members present, which is fewer than usual.  Many must have been travelling to warmer places.

Brenda Teed, our Atlantic district director, spoke to us about the strategic plan for the Association.

Our guest speakers, Sgt. Wayne Ross and Cst. Mitch Thompson of the RCMP, told us about avoiding scams and fraud.  The basic message was that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Someone urging us to act quickly is also a red flag.

Michelle Langille, advocacy program officer for Nova Scotia, and Peter Kerr, branch services coordinator, were also in attendance.

Past president Gene Bell conducted the election of directors for 2024 to 2026. Three vacant positions were filled by nominations from the floor. We now have a complete executive which will meet in early May.

Our meeting ended with hearty soup and delicious sandwiches prepared by the Air Force Association Wing 102.  We thank them for a good meal.
