Dear members of the Sidney & District Branch,
As you may know, during the special meeting of members of the branch held on Nov. 12, 2022, it was approved that the branch should be dissolved, with members moving to the Victoria-Fred Whitehouse Branch (BC09) or to another branch if they chose to do so. The Association rules give the final decision on branch closure to the national board of directors.
On Dec. 8, 2022, the national board approved the proposal to dissolve the branch.
If you want to move your membership to the Victoria Fred-Whitehouse Branch, regardless of where you are living now, including outside Canada, you have nothing to do. I expect that the transfer will happen very quietly before the end of January 2023.
If you want to move your membership to another branch outside the Greater Victoria area, please contact the national office staff at 1-855-304-4700 (toll-free) or by email at service@federalretirees.ca.
