Public Service Health Care Plan (PSHCP) and Pensioners’ Dental Services Plan (PDSP) members may be concerned with claim submission and reimbursement in the event of a Canada Post labour disruption.

The postal service disruption could occur as early as Monday, July 4th, if Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) do not reach an agreement.

Sunlife is the insurer for both the PSHCP and the PDSP. Sunlife has indicated that a mail stoppage will have some impact on claims and reimbursement. Payments that are not made by direct deposit or other electronic methods may also be delayed in the event of a postal service disruption. For this reason, sign up for direct deposit by logging in at www.sunlife.ca/pshcp.

You may also want to consider signing up for electronic billing for your utilities and service providers, including any credit cards. Consumers are still responsible for paying their bills, even if the mail is disrupted.

For more information, contact Sunlife directly. Also keep checking our website regularly for more information about the impacts of the strike, should one be forthcoming. We will be sure to share more information about health and dental claims as they become available through Sunlife.
